Who We Are...

Critique This is a critique group made up of five aspiring romance authors. On this blog, you’ll read about all things writing. We blog about the ups and downs of the writing process, the ins and outs of querying, the love/hate relationships we have with our current works in progress, and much more. You’ll even get a chance to hear from other writers in the community. Sit back and relax—it’s bound to be an interesting ride.

Mara Nash

Margaret Bail writing as Mara Nash.

Hi. I'm Margaret. This is not a picture of me, but since I am decidedly not photogenic and my current series of paranormal romances is about faeries, I thought the picture was appropriate. (I can't remember where I got the photo so I can't credit it...sorry).

I write romance of the paranormal type, but I don't limit myself to that genre only. I have plans for both contemporary and historicals in the works. I also write screenplays, stage plays, and assorted flash fiction. I'm interested in attempting young adult and literary fiction. I want to do it all! I have a bachelor's in English and I'm halfway through my MFA in creative and professional writing, where my thesis is a screenplay very loosely based on real events from our life.

As a young adult I considered myself a writer. Then life got in the way and I didn't write for many years...and I was miserable about it. Now I write because it's in my blood. It's what I do. I can't imagine living my life without writing in it ever again.

I'm also a wife, and mother of a teen and two near-teens. I was born and raised on the West Coast but I currently make my home on the frozen tundra of North Dakota. Don't ask why, it's a really long and slightly embarrassing story.

I have a personal blog, Musings of a Would-Be Writer, a facebook page, and a twitter account so please feel free to look me up!
