Hi Everyone!
Today's a special day at CTW. Why, you ask? Well, look over there in the right column. Go ahead. Yeah, over there. -> ->
A little lower.
You see it?
We have 100 followers!
*throws confetti*
That's 100 people who love us!
That makes us all warm and fuzzy.
In fact, it's something to celebrate, so we're having a party here at CTW today!
And because we're so grateful to all our lovely followers, and we love each and every one of you so much, we've decided to have a contest in your honor!
Will there be prizes? Of course!
Because we're all about critiquing and helping each other become better writers, we thought, what better prize than to offer up what we do best? So here are the prizes!
**First Place: Three (3) chapters critiqued by CTW members!
**Second Place: Two (2) chapters critiqued by CTW members!
**Third Place One (1) chapter critiqued by CTW members!
What do you have to do in order to win a coveted CTW critique? It's very easy!

When you leave your comment, please be sure to add up your points for us so we don't miss any. We want you to get all the credit you're due!
The contest will run through Friday, August 6th and we'll announce the winners on Monday, August 9th.
So hurry and don't miss out!
What a great contest!
I was pretty sure I was already a follower before today, but apparently I wasn't, so sorry about that! Don't know how that happened seeing as I come here quite a lot!
I've tweeted about the contest with the hashtag, and I've signed up to the author interviews too! I'll post about it as soon as I can!
@ sangu: Thanx!
Yea! I love contests, especially constructive ones. I'm new, but I'm now following you on Twitter and Tweeted. I'm not sure what Tuesday Tag is, though.
Great idea! Thanks :)
I'm a new follower, I follow you on twitter, and this is my comment. Thanks for the contest.

@Sangu: Hi! *waves* Good to see you over here!
@Rosie: Tuesday Tag is a serialized story that us CTW girls started and other writer can sign up to contribute to. We're only about four entries into. If you go to the "MyCategories" list on right side of our home page you'll see the Tuesday Tag links. There you can read all the previous entries. I really hope you decide to join in the fun. =D
@Joy: Welcome! Looking forward to seeing you around the blog. =D
What a great contest! I have +3 points!
Sweet contest! Weird, I thought I was a follower too since I come by here so much, but oh well. :)

I've read the Tuesday tag, but being a sci-fi girl I don't know that I could keep it going as smoothly and nicely as it is right now. If you get desperate, I might give it a try.
So count me for 4 points right now.
Hi there. Congrats on the milestone number of followers.
I was excited when I broke five!
As for my points: 1 for the comment, 2 for being a follower, 1 for following on Twitter, 1 for using the #tag.
Thanks for the opportunity.
OK since noone has posted a story yet I'm gonna go ahead and post an example:
Today's the day the fireworks will go off. All those lessons, all those days, hours, weeks of suffering those insouciant girls, and finally I'm free of them. I taught them everything I know. Everything about music, about dance and rhythm, about poetry and flattery and the art of romance. Today I sent them out into the world, out to the market, the court, to be judged, to be chosen, to be loved. Today, after all that time, every one of my girls is out there, being what I taught them to be, an odalisque fit for a king.
So there, it IS possible! Go on, I dare you, have a go!
@Tessa:
You read my mind! I was just thinking... no one had done the story aspect of the contest. =D
Well I already have a few points, might as well add to that.
Julianna moaned as she rolled her neck. What an absolute muck up that was. She has wanted fireworks and boy did she get it! She shut her eyes tightly and then opened them again. Maybe she was dreaming. But she wasn't. Her dream of romance and living the odalisque life had turned to ashes around her. She sighed and huddled closer to the stone walls of the dungeon.
Like several others on here, I thought I was already a follower because I visit it so frequently!
Oh well.
I'll work on my '7-word' flash fiction piece and get back to you.
Don't you love it when you computer acts like it's possessed. Sorry about the craziness. =D
Holy cow!!! Seriously - I don't know what's happened. I'm almost scared to try again. Twittered & FB. Already a follower & blogged asbout it. Here's my little ditty.
“C’mon, you know you want to critique my performance,” she said, batting her long, dark lashes. Her black, wavy hair was long and she’d put beads in it—a secret she’d learned from the Turkish women during that century. She had on a Moulin Rouge!-type costume that’d been made for the final act in their school play, where she’d been cast as an odalisque. It was red and orange with gold trim. The legs were see through and her stomach was bare. She looked more like a genie, but she wasn’t going to correct the designers. It’d brought her closer to Justin.
His sweet blood called to her.
They were in her bedroom and he was lying on the bed, his blue eyes half closed, but she knew he was watching her. His hands were behind his head, fingers intertwined in his curly, light brown hair. He didn’t have a shirt on, so she could see his perfect body—six pack abs, sculpted shoulders. His jeans sat low on his slim hips, showing a bit of hair beneath his navel.
They’d started to date once rehearsals began. She’d made it difficult for him to resist her. Right now she found it almost impossible to resist him. Watching his heart beat, knowing she was seconds away from his warm blood inside her. She could almost taste him and shivered.
Of course, she liked to wait—to play a little. Over the years, it had made the killing more fun. Seduction seemed to make the blood taste sweeter—when it was laced with lust. So here in her bedroom she’d been heating up the romance between them—igniting the fireworks. But she couldn’t wait any longer.
“Of course I do,” Justin answered, his voice hoarse.
“Close your eyes.” She climbed on the bed and lightly grazed her teeth across his stomach. Yes, she thought. Tonight, I’ll take things slow. And maybe I’ll even keep him.
@ Myne & RaShelle: WAY COOL! LOVE YOUR ENTRIES!!
i follow (therefore i am) on blog as well as Twitter. I have tweeted with hashtags. I have signed up for Interview and have written the story below.
Thanks.
The [odalisque] eyed Allyiah with displaced anger stemming from envy run amok. Her desire to feel Allyiah's lover's strong hands roaming her body had driven her mad with want. But she knew her place. Always an apprentice, never a concubine. Allyiah's earlier [critique] of her young apprentice had been searing. "You know nothing!" Allyiah scolded. "You think there is [romance] in being a concubine, a love servant. You have much to learn."
Still the young girl contemplated. When, she wondered, would she be able to feel passion's [fireworks?] When could she live the concubine's [insouciant] lifestyle. Want for nothing. She hatched a plan then and there to assume Allyiah's place. Become her.
Congrats on the followership. And this contest--love it! I'm already a follower (+2). I haven't had time to post, but I added to my sidebar. I'll take a point for the comment, though (+1). It's awesome that you'd volunteer your time to help out other writers :)
Great idea, and kudos on the 100+ followers! I've signed up for Tag Tuesdays :)
I was away for the week and just discovered your contest. Yay! I'm already a follower. So between that and my comment is have 3 points. :D
I'm in! Not sure I count as an author since I am not yet published, but I will always be happy to do a writer's interview!
